what is the difference of all of the spider man comic book sagas?

there is the Ultimate spider man, the spectacular spider man, the amazing spider man, what do they all mean? they all look the same story to me, or is one when peter is a teen, another one when hes in college and so on?

Ultimate Spider-man is set in the Ultimate Universe alongside the Ultimates, Ultimate X-men, Ultimate Fantastic 4 etc.
Ultimate Earth is Earth 1610

The Earth mainly read in Marvel Universe is Earth 616.

There are often crossovers between universes however there has never been an ‘official’ crossover between Ultimate Earth and Marvel Earth (besides a few cameos and links i.e. X-Men Unlimited, Exiles and Marvel Zombies etc)

Spectacular and Amazing and Peter Parker: Spider-man are all set in Earth 616. Depending on the story arc they either follow their own stories or are intertwined constantly. At the moment they are publishing Amazing Spider-man 3 times a month over the course of Brand New Day (current storyline) but that may change. They all happen at roughly the same time though when they are a separate series, focusing on different aspects of Spider-mans life (Parker, Avengers, Mary Jane, etc) but he is the same person and age in the main Spider comics.

You may get other Spider comics such as Peter Parker Loves Mary Jane or Marvel Adventures Spider-man which stand alone are don’t affect main storylines or are even during the same time. More for kids.
